JOIN THE TEAM
Within the Group Data AI Office as part of BASFs Data AI Powerhouse, we drive BASFs overall Data Management and contribute to the convenient, efficient, and compliant data usage within BASF. We deliver services all around Data Product creation, Data Strategy, Data AI Governance and Projects. By promoting good data practices and enabling responsibleg AI usage, we unlock the value of data for human and machine use for our internal partners.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Setting up a Data AI Governance Framework and related processes for Group Data AI Office activities - with a focus on AI.
- Develop and maintain data AI governance documentation, including policies, procedures, and guidelines
- Collaborate with Corporate Centre and Divisional Data teams to support and facilitate execution of guidelines and policies around data Facilitate governance processes for Global Digital Services (Data AI Powerhouse) teams
- Collaborate with IT, legal, compliance, and business teams to ensure a coordinated approach to data AI governance
- Monitor changes in laws and regulations related to data management and ensure that the organizations data AI governance practices align with these requirements
- Manage implementation of data roles and responsibilities (ownership model) in the business units
- Work with data role owners to ensure the effective implementation of data AI governance practices
- Develop and initiate data-related processes, templates, and best practices and share them across the organization e.g. establish data classification standards and data access controls, develop and implement data quality standards and processes, data retention and deletion policies
- Create transparency and stakeholder exchange on Data Governance activities and maturity, and initiate improvements
- Identify, evaluate, and manage data risks and mitigation strategies, especially with a focus on data for AI use cases
- Ensure that data AI governance practices align with the organizations overall business objectives, e.g. by supporting development and delivering data governance training programs
- Conduct data AI governance audits and compliance assessments
- Establish metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of the data AI governance program
QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in business administration, legal, or a comparable completed education with many years of professional experience in various fields
- Practical experience in developing and applying AI governance frameworks
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations related to AI and data
- Experience in the area of data/data stewardship and similar profiles
- Structured work mode in a complex environment, ideally with experience in project management
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong stakeholder management skills
